The Protection of Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) of St. Katharine Drexel and the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis has one goal – providing safe environments for all children.
The initiative has two components:
• Requirements – For clergy, teachers, volunteers and other adults who work with children.
• Education – Age-appropriate, church-approved personal safety instruction for children in our faith formation and youth ministry programs.
St. Katharine Drexel is required (and promotes) the safety of all its children through various programs in the parish. Each year we do safety education for children, as well as require all adult parishioners who have opportunity to work with children to submit full background checks, volunteer registration, and VIRTUS training.
