The Pedal Pilgrimage to the Grasshopper Chapel

What: A prayerful bike tour starting at the base of Chapel Hill in Cold Spring, visiting various churches along the way, finally ending back at Chapel Hill in time for the annual Assumption Mass on top of the hill at 7:30 pm. The 2017 Pedal Pilgrimage is a 23 mile bike tour along country roads and trails stopping at Richmond, Jacobs Prairie, Rockville and back to Cold Spring.
Who: Adults who can pedal for an hour. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. While the prayer during the pilgrimage will be in a Roman Catholic style, the pilgrimage is open to people of all faith traditions.
When: Tuesday, August 15, 2017; starting at 3:30 pm.
Registration: Pilgrims may preregister by e-mail to St.Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (mmcneil@stkdcc.org) with "Pedal Pilgrimage" in the subject line. Registration becomes official when a signed registration & liability waver form is accepted with a $10 fee (Early bird registrants may order a Pedal Pilgrimage T-shirt for $10 before August 5th). Optional $7.00 pizza dinner at Marnanteli’s in Cold Spring after Mass. Registration forms may be downloaded.
Directions to the Start: The Assumption Chapel, also known as the Grasshopper Chapel, is located atop Chapel Hill in Cold Spring on Pilgrimage Road off Maple Hill Road, South of Hwy 23 in Cold Spring.
