The Protection of Children and Youth Initiative

The Protection of Children and Youth Initiative (PCYI) of St. Katharine Drexel and the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis has one goal – providing safe environments for all children.  We provide annual safety education for all children and we require adult parishioners who volunteer with children or vulnerable adults to complete three essential requirements before volunteering:

  1. Read and sign a code of conduct
  2. Complete a background check
  3. Attend a three-hour safe environment training program (VIRTUS) at a parish within the Archdiocese

How to complete the essential three:

New volunteers: You may sign the Code of Conduct, submit to the background check, and pre-register for an upcoming VIRTUS session via the website. Go to the web site, click on the "First Time Registrant" button on the left, select "Begin the registration process", then select "St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese" to begin the process.

Returning volunteers: If you previously attended a VIRTUS session, please do not create a new account. Rather, you MUST log in using your existing account. If you do not remember your ID/Password, please contact Troy Bauer for help.
