All Souls Day Mass for Fr. Jerry Rogers

There will be a special Mass at SKD at 7:00pm, Wednesday, November 2. This is the Feast of All Souls Day. Fr. Jerry helped us establish our sister parish relationship with St. Mary’s Mission on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. We worked closely with him since he became pastor there in 2009 to enhance our sister parish relationship.

Several of our parishioners have been part of our annual youth Mission Trip and Adult Mission Trip to Red Lake. During those trips, Fr Jerry educated participants on the culture of the people of Red Lake. He has visited SKD and shared the story of the Mission and his work there.

Fr. Jerry retired from his work in the Crookston Diocese in April 2022 and returned to his native Illinois, where he served as the Administrator of St Philip the Apostle Parish in Addison Illinois until his untimely death September
19, 2022.

We encourage all parishioners to participate in this Memorial Mass in memory of this special person who impacted so many in his years of ministry.
